About ANNARKIV
ANNARKIV is run by Norwegian knitwear designer Anna Enge. I have worked as a knitting designer since 2009, and have been knitting since I was a child. I follow a long line of knitting women in the family, and have enormous respect for the tradition, while at the same time I have a more unsentimental approach to the tradition in my own designs. In 2009, Heidi Grønvold and I started Pickles together. Over 400 knitting patterns later, I resigned as owner because I wanted a slightly more predictable everyday life. I currently work as a designer in a technology company. Equally, knitting is a large and important part of my life.
In this archive I will collect my knitting heritage (no less). Here you will find lots of patterns I made during the Pickles period. Maybe I'll redesign some, maybe I'll experiment with some, maybe I'll turn some on their head. Anyway, I'll be making most of them available pretty soon. And then it comes too
something new - when I have time.
ANNARKIV is composed of my name, Anna, and arkiv (meaning archive in Norwegian). As you may have picked up, ANNARKIV also sounds a bit like anarchy. For me, it simply means no rules and total freedom to express myself. And hopefully inspire you to do the same:
YOU ARE WHAT
YOU MAKE
WHAT YOU ARE
