Fingerless gloves that are knitted flat in one piece – a bit magical. No double pointed needles or tapestry needles are needed for assembly. You have one end of yarn at the start and one at the end, and otherwise it's just knit stitches and a fun construction!

Construction
Knit back and forth from cuff to cast off edge. Thumb is constructed along the way. Watch video of the mittens in the same series here. More instructional videos available.

Yarn Calculation for scrap yarn
The calculation applies if you knit with the specified gauge (20/40). One pair weighs approximately 26 (32) 38 (44) g. Double for two.

Estimated yardage: 68 (84) 100 (114) m | 74 (92) 109 (125) yard, either as 2x the yardage in thin yarns or 1x the yardage in a thicker yarn.

Convert to another yarn like this:

1. Find the yardage per gram for your substitute yarn (Use the weight and yardage given for the yarn)

g on the ball (i.e. 50 g) divided by
yds on the ball (i.e. 170 yds)
= Yds per g

2. Calculate how many grams you need:
Choose your size: 68 (84) 100 (114) m | 74 (92) 109 (125) yard
divided by
yds per g (answer given above)
= Grams needed for your size
