The Katharine Knitwear Collection is inspired by the iconic style of Katharine Hepburn. She was a pioneer for pants for women, and miles away from most other style icons at the time. This blouse in inspired by a garment she is wearing on a photo while she is knitting.
Construction
Worked top down. After Turkish cast on the collar is worked in the round with German short rows. More sts for front bands are made with Turkish cast. You then reduce the collar stitches and continue working flat. More sts are added in the center back, and these sts are worked from the center outwards while decreasing the collar sts. When you have build the shoulder width you go on to picking up sts around it. You continue working raglan increases to build sts for the sleeves and short rows to shape the neck. Body and sleeves are worked separately with fold up edge. The pattern is demanding and for advanced knitters as you have to combine multiple techniques and instructions at the same time. The garment also has an unusual construction
